Miniature Musicians
(Caregiver/Child - 6 weeks-5 years)
Immerse your baby or toddler in a rich musical environment! In our parent/child class, we will sing, play, and move with our tiny musicians.
Studies show that Music Aptitude, one’s potential to achieve in music, is most fluid in the early years of life. A quality music education, filled with formal and informal music experiences, is vital in the journey to realize one’s full musical potential (Gordon, 2001).
Research also indicates that parents who engage musically with their children report a stronger parent-child relationship and increased confidence in their parenting abilities. Mothers who sing to their children report feeling more aligned with their mental health and maternal role (Holliday-Bembridge, 2022).

Maestros
(School Age)
Maestros is designed for prekindergarten-12th grade students. This class is perfect for homeschooled families or students who do not receive formal music instruction in their schools. It is also perfect for music-loving students who are looking to add more music to their studies!
Our highly qualified, degreed, and certified staff can work with you to design an engaging curriculum that fits your needs. We have a thorough knowledge of the National Core Arts Standards for Music Education and the Virginia Standards of Learning for Fine Arts (Music). We can provide general music classes, composition, vocal music, ukulele, woodwind, brass, percussion, or beginning piano lessons.
We know that studying music strengthens concentration (Lesiuk et al., 2018), increases empathy (Greenberg et al., 2016), and improves self-esteem (Creech, 2019).

Compass Homeschool Band

Classes are underway for Fall 2024. If you missed out this fall, be sure to check back in late November for information on spring enrollment. Beginner and intermediate classes will start mid-January!
